Background / Content

At Christmas time, the Agta carry the image of the black Jesus of Nazarene
(Jesus Nazareno) around the town by singing the daigon, a Christmas carol in Visayan-Cebuano while dancing with lighted coconut shells on their hands. All chants are started by a capitan (captain-leader) and followed by the dancers.”
