The Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group proudly presents Yakan : The sound of the Tuntungan.
This Episode features exceptional Yakan musical instruments that are not just played in rituals, religious ceremonies and festivities but particularly towards the growing rice in hopes of “making it happy” to secure a good and bountiful harvest.
We will also share with you the colorful and elaborate Yakan wedding festivities that Kuya Mon was able to witness in Lamitan , Basilan back in 1991.
Joining us in this episode is Mr. Earl Francis Pasilan, a Cultural Advocate and member of the lamitan Yakan Family. He is also a faculty of Ateneo de Zamboanga University
