The establishment of the Dominican Order in Cagayan and Batanes has inspired the people to celebrate Christmas with traditions and practices introduced by Spain and Mexico.
In the Pastores group of dances, Infantes is the sole representative found practiced in the Northern part of the Philippines.

The groups are composed of young boys and girls singing , dancing, and announcing the birth of Christ as they move from house to house in exchange for a few pesos. Meanwhile, the Three Kings are represented by “higantes” or giants, swaying to the rhythm of tubtubong bamboo noisemakers.
