Dayaw Season 5 Episode 6 : Si Maria at si Nino

The final episode of Dayaw Season 5 will feature a significant icon in the Filipino Catholic community, Mary Mediatrix of All Grace, known to devotees as a source of succor and consolation. The documentary tackles her role as a personal symbol of identity and sees how the Catholic traditions of Spain became uniquely and distinctly Filipino through her.

Dayaw Season 4 Episode 4 : Dancing with Vessels

Showcasing “vessels” of traditional and cultural Filipino dances, this episode features the Ramon Obusan Dance Troupe, Ligaya Fernando-Amilbangsa, the Bayanihan Philippine National Folk Dance Company, and the UP Filipiniana Dance Group. They have chosen to study, record, and teach our artistic traditions, particularly Filipino folk dances and performance, to a greater public.

Buhay na Buhay | Episode 04: Kultura ng Pananahan

The fourth episode of Buhay na Buhay talks about devotion to the family, one’s social network of friends, acquaintances, and sanctity of the home. The episode features the stone houses in Vigan, the Relova House in Pila, Laguna, the Traje de Mestiza costume, the Jota de Manila folk dance, and the Rigodon de Honor. It also features the Feast of Saint Peter in Apalit, Pampanga which is both a family and community tradition. Buhay na Buhay is a product of academic and scholarly work presented in an engaging manner through an interesting narration and video documentation. It is presented in the Filipino language so that more Filipinos would better grasp the different facets of our culture.

Buhay na Buhay | Episode 02: Kultura ng Paguukir at Paguuma

The second episode of Buhay na Buhay explores the deep and spiritual connection of Muslim Filipino artistry and craftsmanship to their religion—that the intricate and complex designs of their clothing, architecture, textiles, and even music and dance, exhibit their reverence to Islam. Buhay na Buhay is a product of academic and scholarly work presented in an engaging manner through an interesting narration and video documentation. It is presented in the Filipino language so that more Filipinos would better grasp the different facets of our culture.
